About Us

Snowdonia Ambassadors

Simon (that’s him in the red jacket) set up MountainXperience to give everybody the opportunity to explore the hills and mountains of the UK. Since his first outdoor adventure in Cub Scouts, he’s gone on to explore the world climbing mountains on four continents.

In recent years Simon has worked for a large outdoor charity with responsibility for the training and wellbeing of its volunteer activity leaders and as Chief Operating Officer of an adventure travel company developing new and exciting holidays for its clients, all alongside running his own IT business for over twenty years.

About MountainXperience

Outdoor Professionals

All our mountain guides are qualified and experienced outdoor professionals. They have up-to-date outdoor first aid certificates and have £5m public liability insurance.

The team is led by Simon who’s a keen mountaineer and author and holds numerous outdoor qualifications in mountain leadership, rock climbing, canoeing and kayaking and first aid training.

Whether it’s Simon or Andy or Keith or Tom or any of our amazing team, you’re sure to be well looked after.

Giving Back

We believe in protecting the environment in which we live and work. Our team actively promote good practices such as erosion control and picking up litter.

MountainXperience is a member of Cymdeithas Eryri (the Snowdonia Society) and supporters of the Eryri (Snowdonia) Ambassador Scheme.

Many of our team go beyond their day-to-day roles and actively volunteer to help others in the mountains either as members of their local mountain rescue team or as volunteer wardens on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

Mountain Merch

We started selling cool (and some daft!) outdoor merchandise during the pandemic. If you’re looking for our collection of cool mountain merch, then head over to mountainxperience.store – you won’t be disappointed!
