While Tom only became a fully qualified mountain guide in 2022, he’s made a huge impression on us and our clients. He first started working with MountainXperience as a trainee and we quickly realised his potential. After he passed his Mountain Leader assessment, we were over the moon when he asked to join our team.
Brought up in the not-so-mountain-y English county of Hampshire, Tom has spent the last 13 years exploring mountainous regions around the world, embarking on epic treks like the 2200-mile Appalachian Trail in the USA, to Everest Basecamp in Nepal, and the secluded ‘Lost City’ in Columbia – to name but a few.
In his spare time, you’ll often find Tom running around his local hills or swimming in the freshwater mountain lakes near his home in the beautiful Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.
Along with his wife Max, Tom is a trainee member of Aberglasyn Mountain Rescue Team and a keen member of the local Search and Rescue Dogs Association (SARDA) Wales.
We’ve heard numerous times from clients that, with Tom as your guide, he’ll keep you motivated and smiling all the way to the summit, even when the going gets tough.
