If you’re coming to Llanberis to climb Snowdon then you’re going to need somewhere to stay. Fortunately there are lots of options from campsites and hostels to 5* hotels!
For a North Wales village, Llanberis has an impressive collection of accommodation for those looking to climb Snowdon and spend a bit more time locally. We always recommend staying overnight when taking on Snowdon. Getting a good night’s sleep before your hike will make the day go better and not having to drive home afterwards will definitely aid your recovery.

Campsites
For the ultimate budget accommodation, you can’t beat rocking up at a campsite with your own tent and you definitely can’t beat camping at The Snowdon Inn/Yr Fricsan! Just outside Llanberis, situated along the bank of the river Seiont which flows into Llyn Padarn, this 11 acre site is the ideal camping location for Snowdon. You can even pick up the S1 Snowdon Sherpa bus right outside the campsite to take you into Llanberis for the Llanberis Path up Snowdon. Oh, and their pizzas on a Friday and Saturday night are the best in the area!
You can also camp right in the village (well, a few minutes walk away from the High Street!) at Hafod Lydan. This family run mountain farm campsite is on a traditional hill farm with amazing views of Snowdon and many of the surrounding mountains. Check them out at www.campinginllanberis.com
Hostels/Bunkhouses
For those on a budget, Llanberis has a number of cheaper options available. YHA Snowdon Llanberis provides beds in dormitories, private rooms as well as camping cabins all just a short walk from the High Street. YHA has another property on the Llanberis Pass at Pen-y-Pass so if you’re looking for somewhere handy for the Pyg and Miners’ Tracks, check out YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass.
Gallt y Glyn Hostel also offers single beds in small, four-bed dorms.
Bed & Breakfasts
The High Street in Llanberis is home to a plethora of bed and breakfast options. These offers rooms of varying sizes and qualities as well as extra features useful to hikers. We particularly like Dol Peris and Plas Coch, both run by local mountaineering couples. They’re right in the heart of the village, they have ample parking and, most importantly, they’re less than ten minutes walk from the Snowdon Mountain Railway where MountainXperience’s Snowdon hikes start from.
There are many other B&Bs in the village including Glyn Afon Guest House, Glyn Peris and Gallt y Glyn.
Airbnb
It won’t be a surprise that Llanberis has its fair share of Airbnb properties. From a cabin in a garden, to someone’s spare room to a whole house in the centre of the village, you’re sure to find something right for you.
Hotels
You can’t get any closer to the start of Snowdon’s Llanberis Path than The Royal Victoria Hotel. Offering over 100 en-suite rooms, you can literally walk out of the front door right onto the path.
The Padarn Hotel in the centre of the village has 18 en-suite rooms with food available at its 1085 Bistro.
