Ah the million dollar question! Probably the most asked question on the various Snowdon Facebook Groups and definitely the question with the widest ranging answers! Read on for our opinion on how hard is Snowdon.
If you’re looking for a quick answer, there isn’t really one. Well I suppose I could just say that for some people, climbing Snowdon will be a walk in the park. But for others, it will be the hardest challenge they’ve ever taken on. We generally find that for most people, they’re somewhere in between the two.
Look you don’t need to be an athlete to climb Snowdon. But if you have a pretty sedentary job and don’t do any exercise at all then you’re probably going to find it a tough day out. That’s not to say you won’t make it … just that it’s going to be hard work and you’ll likely ache the next day.
That being said, even if you’re a regular gym bunny or keen walker, unless you’re used to walking UP things, you’re also going to find the climbing something of a challenge.
Our biggest tip – get moving ready for you adventure on Snowdon. Try walking up (and down!) local hills, regularly and repeatedly! Get your legs ready for the challenge ahead.
