Meet David

Born not far from Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), in the town of Caernarfon, David is a fluent Welsh and English speaker (and trying to learn Italian!)

David has always been passionate about the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) and being local he’s been fortunate to enjoy the pleasures of mountaineering on his doorstep. Recently he, with a group of friends, completed a challenge to climb the highest 100 mountains in Wales.

Beyond North Wales, David has travelled abroad and enjoyed many different cultures and mountains including Morocco, The Himalayas, The Dolomites and The Alps, although there is always a ‘hiraeth’ (longing) for the mountains of Eryri.

David is a person who enjoys the company of like-minded people and takes great pride not only in looking after fellow mountaineers while working as a guide, but adding value through providing local knowledge along the way.

Climbed and descended Snowdon with a small group led by David — absolutely Pukka guide. Relaxed energy, never rushed, but completely switched on when it came to risk, group pacing, and reading the terrain. His knowledge of the mountain, weather patterns, and safe paths was second to none. We felt looked after the entire time without ever feeling micromanaged — exactly what you want on your first ascent. If you’re thinking of doing Snowdon, especially for the first time, do yourself a favour and insist on David. Super impressed start to finish. Wouldn’t climb with anyone else.
