Local mountaineer Paul has spent his whole life in the small Eryri village of Tremadog near Porthmadog so is no stranger to the hills and mountains of Snowdonia.

As well as climbing mountains for fun, Paul has spent 28 years as a volunteer team member of Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team where he’s gained a huge amount of knowledge of Eryri’s mountains. Paul is a holder of the Gold Level Eryri Ambassador award.
When he’s not out in the mountains rock climbing or walking, Paul also enjoys being underground in the old mines and quarries of the area.
Paul also works for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

Climbed Snowdon last Saturday with Paul from MountainXperience. Best Guide! Made us feel totally safe and had answers for all our questions and plenty of local knowledge to pass on. Made for a memorable experience! Would highly recommend!

The walk up Snowdon at 2 in the morning was never going to be easy but it was an experience made so much better by Dewi and Paul from MountainXperience. They were positive supportive and encouraging throughout and suggested better routes that I would not have taken without their guidance. Highly recommend.

Another amazing year with the guys at MountainXperience! We did it as a charity event for The Whitechapel Centre and they supported us literally every step of the way. They did an amazing job last year so I knew to book straight back with them again for this years event. Shout out to our guides Dewi & Paul, you guys were boss!!
