Meet Keith

There are few people who know quite as much about Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) as Keith. You’ll find him on the mountain most weeks in one capacity or another always with a cheery smile on his face!

Following his retirement from active service as a firefighter with North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Keith decided to make use of his mountaineering experience and qualifications to help people get out onto the hills and mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia).

Keith’s knowledge of the mountains is so great in fact, he delivers continued professional development (CPD) for mountain guides on courses such as ‘Snowdon for Mountain Leaders’.

Like most of our guiding team, Keith volunteers his spare team as a volunteer warden on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and can regularly be seen helping walkers and picking up litter.

This was one of the best things I have ever done. We climbed Snowdon via Llanberis path with Keith as our guide. Keith was absolutely brilliant. So knowledgable, responsible and really prepared and looked after us during the climb. A truly impressive man. Always letting us know what to expect next and giving us tips for each section was so helpful and I could not have felt safer. We had a busy day and Keith was able to guide us around the crowds whilst keeping his eye on all of us and get us some good photo opportunities and amazing views. The whole experience was fantastic.
