Snowdonia National Park Ambassador

MountainXperience is proud to call the Snowdonia National Park its home. So we’ve been studying over the winter to become official Snowdonia National Park Gold Level Ambassdors!

The Ambassador scheme offers a unique training opportunity to enhance candidates knowledge of Snowdonia National Park’s ‘Special Qualities’ and everything that makes Eryri exceptional. Ambassadors of the scheme play an important role in enriching the visitor experience of Eryri.

Aimed at individuals and organisations who work within the tourism industry and those who come into contact with visitors on a regular basis. The scheme was introduced in 2020 and is funded by the Snowdonia National Park Authority and the Welsh Government. It gives those like us who have a passion for Snowdonia the opportunity to deepen their local knowledge, be part of a shared interest group and have the chance to celebrate and have pride in the region.

The Ambassador scheme covers a wide variety of topics related to Snowdonia National Park. Candidates learn about sustainable tourism, its highest mountain Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), diverse landscapes, community cohesion, the Welsh language and the arts. Other special qualities include tranquility and solitude, recreational opportunities, historic landscapes, geology and the Park’s internationally important habitats and species.
